Insurance Program

We understand that scheduling so far in advance can seem daunting. As a result we have partnered with the best travel insurance and trip protection companies to ensure that you have the ability to insure 100% of your trip investment.

How Our Process Works:

1.  Secure cancel for any reason travel insurance and trip protection with your initial payment towards the trip or within 15 days of your initial deposit.

2.  Submit a cancellation request “Contact us form”

3.  Receive direction on whether or not your claim is covered 100% or if you need to rely on the “Cancel for ANY Reason” benefit

o   Receive insurance payout

Insurance payouts from the third party insurer will come in the form of a check sent directly to the insured party NOT Summer Homecoming.

Trip protection payouts will be processed to the cardholder on file in the form of a check or money wire NOT Summer Homecoming.

Insurance Information

When you cancel you will fall into one of the 3 buckets below:

1.  Cancel for a “covered” reason due to an unforeseen event for a 100% payout (200+ covered reasons including but not limited to sickness , injury, job relocation, and job loss)

o   A member on our team will assist with your cancellation inquiry

Any cancellation that occurs for a COVERED reason will receive a 100% payout no matter when you cancel. The conditions below are for customers who do not qualify for a covered reason and must lean on the “cancel for any reason” benefit.

2.  Cancel for “ANY” reason for 75% refund of trip payments to date no matter how many payments you have made up to 72hrs from departure

3.  Cancel for “ANY” reason for a 100% payout by completing the payment requirements for your designated trip

Disclaimers:

*Insurance payout does not cover the cost of the insurance, trip protection, and service fee (initial deposit)

*Cancel for ANY reason insurance is time sensitive and must be opted-in within 15 days of your initial payment towards your trip (Payment 1) or Full Payment.

*All passengers must opt-in to cancel for ANY reason insurance. No form of insurance can be booked on your behalf without your permission

*All passengers must opt-in to Trip Protection. Trip Protection is a separate a add-on to cancel for any reason insurance and can not be booked separately.

*Insurance policy coverage packages vary in price by factoring state of residence, age, gender, and the total cost of your trip amount. Total insurance cost may vary based upon the aforementioned factors.

*We do not guarantee that everyone who purchases insurance will have a successful claim. We use a third party insurance broker and the insurance payout is at the discretion of the officer that reviews your claim.

*All payments received must go through a 30 day hold period prior submitting your cancellation intended for an insurance claim

Our insurance gives you the opportunity to cancel for ANY REASON and receive 100% of the value of your trip back excluding your non-refundable non-transferable deposit for all trips that are paid in full with cancel for ANY reason insurance AND trip protection add on.

Cancel for any reason benefit for 100% refund is not available within 90 days of departure. Packages that cancel for any reason will be reduced to 75% if canceled within 90 days.

Trips that have not been paid in full are limited to a 75% refund from our 3rd party supplier of insurance.

This travel insurance provides pre-departure protection and coverage during your trip and is limited to your package with Summer Homecoming. The value of the trip does NOT cover the flights or registration that have been purchased separately. However, if you experience any issues with your flight (delays, lost baggage, etc…) this portion of the trip is covered up to your booking amount.

Insurance pays out 100% for ALL covered reasons no matter how many payments were made towards your trip.

The examples below are for members who must rely on their cancel for ANY reason insurance and trip protection.

Example(s)based on $1,000: Cancel For ANY Reason Insurance and Trip Protection

Customer A has paid in full and opted into cancel for any reason insurance and trip protection. This customer is eligible for a $1,000 (100%) refund if paid in full and cancels for any reason 90+ days from departure.

Customer B has NOT paid in full but has made at least 3 payments totaling $750. This customer is eligible for a refund of 75% ($562.5).

Customer C has paid in full and purchased a flight separately ($500) and decides to cancel their trip for a 100% refund 90+ days from departure. The refund will be limited to the $1,000 paid to Summer Homecoming. The flight will need to be canceled directly with the airline supplier.

You can opt out of our insurance by sending a message through the contact us form within 15 days of your initial payment towards the trip (Payment 1).

Charge-Back Claim Penalty

All purchases made through our system are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any charge-back claims processed through your bank that are not re-instated within 48hrs of a member of our team sending correspondence you will incur an additional $500 service fee per claim that is not eligible for insurance coverage. This fee is non-refundable and covers the cost of the time of our internal team to process the claim. In the event that our claim is not awarded from the bank this $500 charge will be added to the total disputed that is submitted to the collections agency and small claims court. In the event that the dispute is resolved in our favor Summer Homecoming will be named as the beneficiary of your insurance policy and will pay out the value of your claim (less the aforementioned $500 fee).
